Product Description
A-Bug Model 140 Tone Probe
The Model 140 Tone Probe is a hand-held probe used by telephone or LAN construction, installers and splicers to detect audio tones used for identification, cable tracing or repair. The Model 140 will give an audible and visual indication if a tone is detected. The Model 140 detects frequencies in the range from 500 to 1000 Hertz.
A-Bug brand Model 150 Tone Sender
The A-Bug brand Model 150 Tone Sender is a miniature, tone generator that sends a modulated two-frequency alternating tone on working or non-working pairs or individual conductors for detection with the Model 140 Tone Probe or other similar probes. It also tests lines for voltage including ringing, polarity, continuity, shorts, grounds and crosses; and also provides talk battery for communications between two locations. Two outputs are provided, an alligator clip output suitable for connection to wires or terminals, and an RJ-11 output for plugging into RJ-11 jacks.
The Model 150 can send two types of tone. The factory setting is the alternating high/low (900/800 Hz) tone modulated at 2.5 Hz. If desired, an internal switch changes the output to a solid tone. The unit uses a standard 9 volt battery and battery life is typically 100 hours with an alkaline battery.
