The Cable Maintenance Poles and Hand-Held Coils are unsurpassed for locating shorts, crosses, grounds and similar faults in telephone cables. Regardless of whether the suspect cable is aerial, submerged or in a manhole, there is an appropriate model that will locate the fault.
Designed to plug into any standard amplifier used for OSP cable repair work, several different models are available. Pole versions come in three different models: PR421, PR421D & PR527. Model PR1620 is the hand held version. Differing only in length, 21 and 27 feet, Models PR421 and PR527 both come with telescoping fiberglass poles and terminate with the popular "lollipop" exploring head. Both poles collapse to measure approximately 6 feet.
Model PR421D is a 21 foot fiberglass pole that features both a dual coil pick-up head and a flexible neck for positioning the pick-up head. The dual coil pick-up head eliminates noise interference and increases sensitivity to the signal. The flexible neck allows the dual coils to be manipulated around the cable to enhance signal pick-up.
